It’s one of the fastest-growing leafy greens, and you can plant it in the garden or in pots. Rocket is best sown in spring or autumn (it can tolerate the cold) and will be ready for harvesting in just six to seven weeks – you can even eat the baby leaves after about two weeks
Available as a winter crop if protected with cloches or grown in a cold frame or directly outside depending on your climate conditions.
The young leaves have a warm nutty flavour, becoming quite peppery as they age. Harvest the leaves regularly to prevent them from rushing into flower.
