A smaller relative of the pansy, Johnny Jump up produces purple and yellow flowers and are a lot more heat tolerant and produce more flowers than their relative, the larger pansy. This variety is a biennial but it is often grown as a annual, which will readily self sow.
Pansies make a superb massed display in garden beds or feature their flowers in pots or window boxes.
