An annual herb with large, aromatic green leaves and small white flowers in summer. Pinch these buds to increase leaf growth. Ideal planted in a warm location either in herb gardens or pots and containers. Both the stems and leaves can be used in cooking as the stems are more flavoursome than the leaves and can be included in stews and casseroles, the leaves can also be used in salads, tomato dishes, sauces, pesto and pasta dishes.
