Stalks and leaf midribs are smooth, thick, broad and white.

Swiss chard leaves are very tender and tastes similar to Spinach, however Chard is a member of the beet family. This leafy green is a very nutritious vegetable, It provides vitamins, minerals, and powerful plant compounds. You can either eat them raw or cook them in different ways.
